You can never go wrong with Sambal Lado or Balado dish, as the basis of this dish is just stir fried blended shallot/red onions, garlic & chillies. For added taste, I added belacan and my my my you will be surprised it’s sedapppp.

Vegetables – chop up French beans, carrots and mushroom. Set aside
Blend 2 red chillies, 2 red onions/ shallot, 1 garlic and sauté with a 2tbsp water. Sauté in frying pan with 2tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp belacan and 1 tsp salt until fragrant. Add the chopped vegetables above and stir fry until done ♨️
I’m trying out more vegetarian and oil free dishes for our family’s health. It’s not been an easy journey since a few weeks ago but I’m finally settling in.. imagine my phobia in whipping up stir fry dishes without using any oil! It’s a real fear, people!
But now as I have gotten the hang of it well heck.. I just stir fry the onions, chillies & garlic with some broth! Or water alone! Or with coconut milk for those creamy dishes. Yes we can do this 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
